Hi All,

I need a small and urgent assistance regarding Mah. Co-op. Soc. Act,

Is it mandatory to audit the records of co-operative socirty under Mah. Co-op. Soc. Act.

If yes can we ask for the same thrugh RTI??

Annual audit is mandatory only when its limit is exceed as mentioned in the society bye law.

RTI is instrument through which you will get information.

These both thing are totally different.

Hence there is no sonnection between these two.

Sir, Every Co-operative society, in Maharashtra, has to get its account, and not records, audited mandatorily. One can get the information through RTI. Good luck, Kishor Mehta.

Yes it is mandatory to have audit of the Co-operative Societies. But that has to be done through advocate empanelled with state government  as per recent amendment in the MCS Act 1960.

Being a member of the Society you can demand the documents under section 32 of the MCS act 1960
