Respected experts, I want to know whether it is legal duty of the adopted parents to reveal the fact that he/she is an adopted child? What if they dont reveal? Is there any difference in the rights of adopted child and other children of the same couple? Coz, usually adoption homes compel the adopted parents to reveal the fact to the child.

There is no such legal duty cast upon the adopting parents by the statute to reveal the fact to the child that he/she is an adopted child. There is no difference in the rights of adopted child and other children of the couple adopting the child. The adopted child have same rights as that of a natural child.

As soon as the child is adopted according to law, he gets the rights of natural born child and there cannot be any discrimination between them.I agree with Madam Archana.

as per the law even though there is no necessity to reveal but in case if you are not informed your adopted child that you are not the father or mother and it is only we adopt and hereafter we only your father and mother as per the adoption . then tomorrow even the parents of that adopted child have no legal right over it if the adopted child tomorrow will be in a good position and it is for your safe only for future disagreement.
