Advocates name plate

Can the cooperative housing society of the complex ask the advocate to remove the name plate put on his window which is facing the inside of the society complex as the society had asked the other members to remove their boards for e.g beauty classes etc as it was not looking look in the complex, they all have complied except for the advocate.
Can the society take any action if he doesnot remove the board/Name plate from his window.

no harm in displaying advocate name plate on window . let society take legal proceedings . since he is ana dvocate he can defend him self . dont antagonise the advocate . he cna be very useful to society on various issues regarding coopeartive societes act

If the name plate/ board is within prescribed
size given under Advocates Act and Rules Framed by BCI. He need not to remove this.

Dear Aftab,

Are you talking about signboard or simply the name plate of the advocate. There is a great difference between a name plate and a signboard for public viewing for the purpose of publicising a professional. So far as the name plate at the door or window of the advocate's house is concerned, there should have been no objection to the society.

Sorry for mentioning the Sign board as Name plate. Its a signboard of 2x2 for public viewing.
Can the society ask him to remove it as everybody else has removed their signboards.

That is permissioble only on specific approval by the society concerned. There cannot be any objection if normal sized name plate is hanged in front of the door.

Definitely, you will have to remove the board if society management has objected to that or asked to remove.
