serve a legal notice upon the Electricity Department, but prior to ensure that the partition is recorded in municipal records.

the most authentic way thereafter will be to file a Civil Writ Petition against the Electricity Department.

there can be other various modes to compel the transfer but Writ Petition will be more effective and quicker remedy.

Electricity deptt have a right to enter premises where meter is installed even if by police help.

By the way what happens when you do not pay.

You should immediately get your supply disconnected from the old meter and should apply a fresh connection for your premises.

This is the shortest way.

Get appropriate deed registered for partition in sub registrar office to avoid complications.
