Agreement execution date before agreement commencement date

Hi, I would like to know if an agreement can be executed before the date of its commencement. For e.g. can I execute an agreement today which will commence from say 1st February, 2013.

Formal agreement, if specifies the effective date, execution prior to that date can not be possible.

However if job has been started prior to the effective date of agreement that can be treated as on the basis of verbal agreement. But any deficiency in service cannot be legally challengeable in the wake of effective date mentioned in formal agreement.

I think you want to ask the registration prior to the date fixed rather of the execution of the agreement. An agreement is never treated as existing prior if the same has not been executed.
