I am planning for purchase of a flat in the name of my wife, who is homemaker. The loan will be in the joint name. Whether I will be eligible for claiming the income tax benefits on interest and principal amount on home loan, as the EMI will get deducted from my account and my wife is not having source of income or taxable income.
I am a salaried employee and my company deducting tax through salary. In 2016 October my father gifted amount Rs 15 Lack which I invested in Reliance bond funds. In March 2108 I have withdrawn that amount and given back to my father. My query is who needs to pay the tax on short term gains. Is it me or my father or anyone can pay? If I pay then I am in 20% slab so the amount will be huge. If my father has to pay his income is within taxable income limit. Please suggest.
A person is evading the tax to the government, i want to file the complaint, I do not have his PAN/Adhaar card,
But I have the address, name, and the case details where he is trying to get money.
My father an income tax payer, died on 16/02/2012. I would like to register myself as a legal representative on behalf of my father to submit the IT return. Unfortunately, I had lost the PAN Card of my father while shifting to another nearby premises. In this regard, I had lodged an information/General Diary at the local police station. I am also an income tax payee and have PAN number(linked with adhaar also). However, I gathered information from income tax website that without uploading the soft copy of the PAN card of the deceased person, one cannot register him/her as a legal representative. Now I seek advice from the respected members to help me out of this problem as I had talked with customer care executive several times but they failed to show me any solution.
Thanks in advance.

If the transaction in my account exceeds 26lakhs for a savings account then what will be the amount of tax i need to pay?
I am a retired person from Karnataka power transmission corporation limited which is Govt of Karnataka undertaking. At the time of retirement I got leave encashment of about Rs 15 Lakhs. I retired in Feb2014. At the time of retirement no income tax was deducted as the organisation was Karnataka Electricity Board earlier. After unbundling different companies were formed and KPTCL is one copany.
Now income tax authoroties have issued notice to KPTCL that its employees has to pay income tax on leave encashment above Rs 3 lakhs , KPTCL has started recovering tax from pension of the employees.
It is stated that the Government employees are fully exempted from paying tax on leave encashment as per income tax rules and other employees have to pay tax on leave encashment above Rs 3 lakhs.
Is it not discrimination between employees.
Can this rule can be challenged.
