Service tax on educational service

Respected Sir/Ma'am,

I am writing this mail after getting conflicting answers from different CAs regarding few of my service tax related concerns.

I run a small proprietorship firm to promote Science. Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education among school students through project based learning methodology i.e. learning by doing.
To make it simple, we conduct workshops on Robotics, Aeromodelling and practical science projects in the schools. We are providing these services to the schools.

My question is- will this service be considered Auxiliary Education service and hence be exempt form Service Tax?

Also, in general, if a proprietor has registered his firm under service tax but the revenue is less than 10lacs, is he required to pay service tax?

Thanking You,
Dhananjay

Rental income for Taxation

Dear all,
Happy DIWALI to you and your family.
I need your expert opinion for consideration of rental income for Taxation. I have purchased home in Navi Mumbai and I have taken home loan from SBI. I have mentioned my wife as a co owner in the registration document of home but I have taken home loan on my name as my wife is house wife.

Now I am planning to rent my home and planning to make lease agreement between my wife and tenant. If so is it possible to show rental income as my wife's income?or as I am paying EMI of home loan, it will be considered as my income? I am availing tax benefits on home loan EMI.

Regarding it returns

Sir, I am running an educational institution (school) which was registered as AOP (not TRUST) in IT Department, now I have to file IT Return for the A.Y: 2015-16. And school was wholly for charitable purpose not for profit motive. so, now I want to claim exemption u/s.10(23c) but when I am filling ITR form – 5 for AOP, there is no option for exemption u/s.10(23c) in that form. Only ITR – 7 has that option. My doubt is which ITR should be filled by me.
