Loan High Rate of Interest

Sir,

I have taken a personal loan of Rs. 3,25,000 from citifinancial 18 months back. We agreed about the EMI tenures for 36 months and I had paid the EMI upto 18 months. But I received a call from their customer care that 48 EMIs are remaining. I was surprised on hearing this and check the loan agreement that I had already signed by me. Then I came to know that 48 months is written in the document. I went to their office branch and requested that this will be a printing mistake, but they didn't agree with that and shown me the total payable is about 5,50,000. Though I didn't agree with them, I am helpless. Could you please guide me what needs to be done from my end? Is there any legal approach to solve this? As their interest is almost 100% which is very near to twice the loan amount. Please help.

Hoping to get a suitable advice soon.

Thanks,
Dineshchandra Singh

capital gains tax

I had bought a flat for for Rs.82000 in Aug'94 and sold the same for Rs.9,55,000 in March'11.
Meanwhile I had started construction of a new house on a pre-owned plot of land in October'08 solely relying on the sale proceeds of the flat to meet out the cost of construction. The sale of flat however took a long time to mature. I expect to complete the construction sometimes in june'11.
Can I adjust the capital gains tax acrued against the cost of construction and claim exemptions? Are their any special exemptions available to me being a lady?

HUF as partner in Partnership Firm

Unlike a company, which has a separate legal entity, a HUF has no separate existence from its members. A HUF cannot be treated as a person (though under the Income Tax Act, the terms 'person' includes a HUF also for limited purpose only). However, what would be status of a Partnership Firm in which a HUF (and not KARTA) is shown AS one of the Partner? What would happen to credir facilities provided by Bank to such Partnership Firm and what is the remedy?
