Meena Sharma is a well-known editor in a monthly magazine from Delhi who built her reputation by investigating corruption. A few years ago, she wrote a series of articles accusing a politician, of misusing public funds for his personal benefit. Meena’s reports stirred up controversy, with many people discussing the corruption claims she made. But the politician denied all the accusations and filed a defamation lawsuit against Meena, claiming that her articles were false and damaging to his reputation. This lawsuit has been dragging on for three years, with no solution in sight because the courts are overloaded and keep delaying the hearings. Meena’s career has suffered during this time. Some people question her credibility, and it’s been hard for her to get work as an editor because of the ongoing case. And the legal team of the politician is demanding a large sum of money from Meena, claiming her articles damaged his political career. Meena’s legal team argues that her case should be transferred to the BNSS’s fasttrack courts, so the matter can be resolved quickly. The politician’s lawyers, however, believe that the defamation case should proceed as per the usual court timeline. What can be done?
My wife filed a fake dowry complaint at the Women Cell in UP. During my first appearance on the third hearing, I asked her parents why they made false allegations. They replied, "How else would we be heard in court without making these claims?" They then requested the IO at the Women Cell to file an FIR. The next hearing is next week. Can an FIR and my arrest happen on the same day?
Please note, I have already emailed the SP and Women Cell, stating that all allegations are false and that I was the one who first filed a police complaint when her family came to my home and acted violently later on they made complaint 400 kms away. This is clearly a counterblast.

My name is Sunita Sharma, and I'm a 40-year-old homemaker from a small village. In our village, standing up for what's right is important, but many of us don’t know much about our legal rights. We face issues like domestic violence, land disputes, and people being denied what they deserve, but we’re often lost when it comes to finding help. I remember when I was denied my share of inherited property; I didn’t know where to turn or what to do. I’ve seen this happen to so many people in our community, and it’s heartbreaking because we just don’t have the knowledge or resources to fight back. I’m also wondering if the BNS will organize workshops or camps in our village, where legal experts can come and talk to us directly, answer our questions, and guide us on what to do. It would be great if they could send mobile vans with legal resources to our village, so we don’t have to travel far to get help. Will the BNS work with local NGOs and community leaders to make sure everyone gets the information they need?
Good evening sir/madam
Sir I have a bit of land 200 sy.yds in Hayathnagar. I have purchased the same in 2017. I have verified all the revenue related documents and the link documents to verify it genuinity. But in the early 2018, I came to know that the first land owner who owned acres plotted the same and sold all the plots in the year 1985. But his successors, grand children who possessed patta pass book, kept the same as mortgage with a bank viz. Oriental Bank of Commerce and obtained a loan of 6 Crores. The bank authorities without verifying the land whether it is agricultural or plotted, sanctioned the loan. Bank authorities may be hand in glove with the said cheaters. Now, the bank has obtained some court orders and through Advocate Commissioner and with police protection, obtained possession. Aggrieved of this, the land owners in 100s went to High Court obtained stay, DRT-II, Hyderabad gave judgment favoring the land owners. Aggrieved by the orders of DRT, the bank filed a WP in High Court, the High Court denied to interfere and advised them to approach DRAT which is in Kolkata. Now the case is pending in DRAT.
My concern in this is that I was not a party in the DRT Court proceedings and had tried to be a party in High Court, but due to the delay caused by my counsel I could not be impleaded into the case. My question is whether I can implead in the DRAT Kolkata as my case is the same as the case of the land owners who are now parties in the case. Please help me out. Thank you
dear sir,
we purchased a flat which belong to share of 1st son (out of 4).
the family had father and 4 sons and the building is divided among them.
4 flats one each to 4 sons
ground floor and terrace to father.
father died and in will gave his share of ground floor and terrace to his 2nd son.
In our registered sale deed there is no mention of terrace rights.

My maternal uncle Ravi Ganguly, approx. 45-year-old man, has owned a grocery store in our locality for over 20 years. Recently, a new shop opened nearby, , which caused competition between the two. Over time, their rivalry grew, leading to arguments and tensions which was many a times witnessed by the customers present there . Both of them accused each other of trying to steal customers and spread bad rumors about their businesses. One evening, after a heated argument over a shared advertisement, Ravi hit the other owner in anger. He fell and hit his head on a sharp object. He was taken to the hospital but died the next day. Ravi claims it was an accident and that the owner had provoked him by insulting him during the fight. However, the police have charged Ravi with murder because witnesses said Ravi acted aggressively. Now this could result in the death penalty or life imprisonment. The trial began under the old law, but before a verdict was given, the new laws were introduced.
I am want to know that can his lawyer argue that his case should be reexamined under the new law because my uncle acted in selfdefense and has no criminal history. Can we expect a lighter sentence under BNS. The prosecution, however, insists that Ramesh’s actions fall under the old law and should be punished accordingly.
