Yes!generally advocate of defence and public prosecutor do so,but as a rule it requires application for inspection of file with requisite court fee. At the time of evidence advocate can check the particular document for the purpose of cross examination or examination in chief.

In High court, any counsel on record can inspect the bundle on an application or filing a search memo before the Deputy Registrar and can go through the bundle in the presence of the Section Officer/ person as may be designated by the Deputy Registrar.

For Trial Courts and other Subordinate Courts permission from the Presiding Officer is necessary
