You have to leave the earlier agency with LIC in the changed circumstances.

What is Samvida sala shikshak varg 3 (MP)"? Is it Government job? Government will not permit you to hold the agentship of LIC. Hence leave LIC Agentship before you join the new job. If it is private job, of course you can hold both positions if there is no objection from your private boss.

You better opt for Teachership, as LIC job required struggle to achieve targets.

NO. In Government service, any busibess, trade or profession is treated as misconduct in the part of the employee for which punishment up to the level of dismissal from service can be awarded.

Dear Mr. Gaurav,

You can either work as a teacher or as a LIC Agent.

One can understand your dilemma. You are not sure whether or not you will be made permanent in the Teacher's job. Even that will take 3 years to get permanency.

You have to make a choice yourself - either to continue to be a LIC Agent or to work as a Teacher. It will depend as to how you are now doing as a LIC Agent - how much are you getting. Whether you have confidence to further increase your LIC Agency business. What is the salary that you will get as a teacher. Whether the Teacher's salary (apart from being a regular one, besides being a Govt. job) is higher than what you are earning in the LIC Agency.

So, make a deep analysis of the pros and cons and then take a decision. BUT BE SURE, YOU CANNOT WORK AS A TEACHER AND ALSO AS A LIC AGENT. YOU CAN DO ONLY ONE.

Mr.Gaurav
Now I could understand that your teacher job is purey temporary and on consolidate basis. If it is on consolidated pay and not on regular roles according to me you can continue your LIC Agentship until you are absorbed in teacher post on regular basis.

@S/Shri Anirudh and Jaggarao,

Any person on Government job, except in the case of contractual appointment, is appointed initially on temporary basis but is always on regular rolls. It is not necessary that he would be made permanent only after completion of three years. The period can be even less or more than three years, but depends upon availability of permanent posts, either due to sanction of permanent post or on retirements and promotions of the permanent incumbents. However, if an employee is not made permanent within three years, he can be declared as quasi permanent with all the benefits of a permanent employee. So he is sure to get permanent one day or the other on the job.

Irrespective of whether he is permanent or temporary, conduct & discipline rules do apply on him, as are prescribed for Government employees. So, after his appointment, he cannot continue with any business, trade or profession while in Government service.

Dear Mr. Dhingra,

I also said that one cannot be both LIC Agent and at the same time Govt. servant.
Guest (Expert) 02 June 2013
Dear Anirudh,

I noticed that from your advice to the querist. Just for more clarity, I pointed out towards provision of the conduct rules for the Government employees.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 02 June 2013
by joining this job you are submitting to the conduct rules of MP Govt employees and cannot continue LIC agency not even in the name of family member.

I will disagree with S/Shri Anirudh and Jaggarao, tp that extent only.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 02 June 2013
You are again suggested to leave the job of LIC Agent immediately before joining the job.
