CAN I USE RTI FOR COPY OF GERNEL DAIRY OF POLICE ?

RESPECTED EXPERTS

1.I filed a written complain for registration of
FIR.

2.Can I use RTI for asking copy of GENEREL DAIRY
which is maintain Police?
(NOT A CASE DAIRY or COPY OF FIR)

3.IF POLICE DO NOT GIVE ME THAT COPY WHAT CAN I DO ?
HAVE ANY RULING OR CITATION THAT METTER?

Police officer are bound to give a sealed copy of their record regarding FIR.

Copy of the FIR can be give to you, but case diary can not be given as it can be used only ccording to Criminal Procedure Code read with the Indian Evidence Act.

officer in-charg of Police station are bound to give a copy of general diary. if he not provide the same you can file Appeal to the Appellate autority of the department.
