Dear Sir/Madam,
I have booked a flat by advancing Rs.50,000/- through check to developer.Later during searching some deficiencies have been found. The land on which the flats were constructing not converted into bastu. So I demanded my advance payment & after several verbal reminder over phone a reminder notice has been sent by registered post & developer of the flat called me & told the advance would be backed by chq only when I write the "cancellation of booking" vide chq no....... on the back side of the money receipt.
Is there any legal complications arise by writing such things on the back side of money receipt in case the chq has been bounced back.
Pls suggest.
Thanks & Regards,
Saikat Sen

First take back the money. Nothing wrong in writing on the back of the receipt provided you get your money same time.
Look at the terms of booking. Is it somewhere provided that upon cancellation, advance money will be forfeited.
Check all this and get back.

There is no legal issue if you get your money back after receipt of the cheque,
