Cancellation of Power of Attorney

Sir,
I want to know that how the General Power of Attorney can be cancel. What is the procedure and requirements for cancellation of GPA. Whether it is mandatory to cancel the GPA from Same Registering authority, where it was executed at the time of giving GPA. Whether GPA can be cancel in any where in india.
Whether any notice is mandatory after cancellation to the person in whose favour GPA was granted.

You can draft revocation of GPA deed and make it register at the concerned Registrar Office where the GPA executed and send notice to the GPA Agent by registered post.

GPA can be cancelled at the same place wherein this was got registered and its due notice is required to be given to its holder to stop its misuse.

A agree with my learned brothers. A document cancelling POA has to be registered in the same office where it is originally registered.

Unless the cancellation is notified the Agent would not know about the cancellation and he may try to perform the authorised function which may prejudice the Principal and also third parties involved in the transaction.

I agree with the learned members. After cancellation of GPA publish the notice in the news paper regarding the cancellation of the GPA and send the same to the person in whose name GPA was executed.

A registered document can be canceled only by a registered deed and in case of registered POA notice for its cancellation is must.
