(Querist) 07 September 2010 This query is : Resolved
Resp. Members,
Are Labour Laws applicable to employees employed by Co-operative Housing Society? If Co-operative Housing Society decides to terminate the services of an employee illegally, what is the remedy for such an employee? Please advise.

Industrial disputes act applies to co=op sector. You can pursue remedy for illegal termination under that statute before the labour court. Or else you can challenge the same by taking course to arbitration proceedings under the co-operative societies act itself.
