In October 2017 gold jewellery worth Rs.20 lakhs was stolen and the same was caught within six hours. the jewellery was recovered through court by depositing security worth Rs.20 lakhs in the form of house title deeds. In the theft case the charge sheet is yet to be filed. Few days back received a phone call from police whether willing to compromise in Lok Adalat with the said accused. will there be any implications if the compromise is executed in Lok Adalat ?

If the stolen property is recovered in full, no harm in compromise.

Compromise in Lok Adalat is valid process where all the matters relating to the dispute get resolved.
The jewelry worth Rd 20Lakhs was handed over on suprdari by keeping the property title worth same amount, by resolving the matter in Lok Adalat the property title will get released that otherwise may take many years.

Yes, you may go ahead to amicably settle the case in the L.A. Kindly note that the award passed by the Lok Adalat shall be deemed to be a "decree" of the Civil Court and it shall be final and binding without any further provision for appeal against the same.
