This query is : Resolved
My bank has sent me an account closure letter---it bears no signature of bank authority and declares that it is a computer generated document ,hence there is no need of any signature.
I am surprised that how can a computer generated document be assumed legally valid without any signature?
Though this letter is on a letter head of the bank but I feel that it is very easy to copy all this with the help of PAINT or PHOTOSHOP--even kids are very quick on doing such things.
Please clarify.

Yes, you are right it can be done with pair or photoshop. I think bankers are unaware of it.

It is only an assumption, that it is true.
Before the court you have to prove it with the physical witness.
Bankers are aware of it, because any document can be forged or fabricated. there is no permanent solution on this.

Sirs, thnx that U are replied but I am sorry to say that I am yet not clear.
I asked that whether such computer generated docs which do not have any official stamp or signature have any legal value in the Court of law or not?
Please help me further.

Dear All
Even if the document is stamped one and produced it before any court, it is taken as evidence, only after the deposition of the issuing authority.
But in the present days, regarding computer generated copies, the burden lies on the person, who dispute the genuiness of the computer generated copies. It is generated by a reliable software used by the issuer and after due verification of records.
Similarly our currency notes are also nothing but a computer generated copies, where no original stamp or signature is seen, still it is believed to be genuine, though there are several instance of making fake currency.

Every currency note has a unique feature and print and only Govt of India has authority to print and it uses a specific kind of paper. It cannot be as easily fabricated as a bank l head by use of technology as banks also use same quality paper which is available in a common stationary shop. So if you need an admissible document you can either go to bank and get is stamped as well or send a request to provide you a duly signed copy. Anyone you tries to misuse by duplication or files even original in bank will be under a legal onus to prove in evidence its genuineness at the time of its use before a Court of Law till then it is totally a piece of paper.

Thank U all who took pain of replying,I conclude that computer generated docs--have no legal force and banks are wrong who just send docs without any signatures or stamps.(they are just saving themselves from legal responsibility)
Hope I am not wrong.
