It depends on the management.
s.subramanian (Expert) 03 November 2010
It is a policy decision to be taken by the bank management.

You may request with your management in this regard.

Can you post the terms and conditions stipulated in your contractual work agreement? Generally high-end marketing related work tasks which are out of the purview of the normal banking activities are outsourced to third parties and service conditions generally don't map with that of a regular employee of the bank. You need to check up with the officers' Association of Canara Bank for further guidance.

I agree with Mr. Subramanain it is solely a policy matter within the jurisdiction of management.

Dear Anonymous,
It all depends upon the availability of post, requirement of personnel, policy of the management etc. etc. But, citing the example of State Bank of india, you people can also make representation to the Bank management and request for permanent absorption. While normally the administration would have continued your contractual terms for further period, it is also possible if you raise an issue for permanent employment, they may try not to continue the contract after the term comes to an end. Thus, you have to understand the situation in the bank and then make your move. It shoul not heppen that just by asking for permanent placement, even your available job on contractual basis also gets ended.
As advised by Mr. Partha, you have to approach the Officers' Association and try to find a way out to your issue.
