Ji, If you wish to convert to Islam, you have to contact the priest of Islam ( I think he is called as Imam) for guidance. If you convert to other religion from a religion, the caste will not be changed. I opine, when a person decides to convert to Islam from Hindu religion, how can he expect properties from Hindu Parents?

It is only religion and not caste which can be changed.
No legal issue involved in the query posted by Mr./Ms. Anonymous.
It would be advisable to consult your lawyer or another local prudent lawyer for better appreciation of facts, guidance and proceeding.

cast is changed
i.e. if one is SC and converts to Islam / Christianity he loses reservation benefits.

Yes, Imam or the Kazi is the best person to assist you. You do not lose the right to inherit the property by such conversion.

Reservation is not based on religion. If particular community is socially and economically backward in that case the said community will get the benefit of reservation. Changing religion has no concern with reservation benefits.

The contention of Mr Pawar is correct regarding reservation for ST and OBC.
For SC quota reservation please see the SC certificate.
It specifies that the person has not converted to any religion other than Hindu/Sikh or Buddhist.
So reservation for SC category is based on religion.
