Cooperative housing service society

(Querist) 18 July 2024 This query is : Resolved
Recently i had purchased a individual bunglow in cooperative housing service society. Society has asked me to pay transfer fees of Rs. 50000.00. Also society is forcing me to pay the yearly maintenance charges in one short. Can housing service society demand transfer fees and ask for one time maintenance charges for the whole year.

Please advice.

thanks

The bylaws of the society is to be seen to confirm if there is any clause invoking the demands made by the society in this regard.
Before becoming a member the society may not be inclined to show you the bylaws hence you may pay it under protest and then after confirming the provision through bylaws you can decide about initiating legal action if necessary

The transfer fees as per the rules shall be paid and it is a maximum of Rs.25,000/- to my best known. For maintenance charges etc. the rules and regulations of society bylaws shall be verified to form an opinion.
