Cousin asking share in inherited property

Self acquired property of my grandfather was inherited by my grandmother,father and his two brothers . My grandmother and youngest uncle relinquished their rights from the property . The property is now jointly owned by my father and one uncle .Now my cousin (son of uncle who owns property jointly with my father)is saying that the property is ancestoral and wants his share .Can he claim share when my father and his father own the property jointly?

Whether relinquishment deed was registered?
From the given facts property does not seem to be ancestral?
However show all documents to local lawyer.

Some local precedence's seem to have been adopted.
If it is self acquired property and inherited by sons and daughters of deceased then also property that devolved should be self acquired.
If father is alive then inheritance/succession has not opened.
On what grounds he is claiming it to be ancestral.

Obtain mutation records and show these to a very able local senior counsel of unshakable repute and integrity specializing in revenue/property/civil matters for a considered opinion and share inputs on how the property has been enjoyed.
