WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SECTION 205 AND 317 OF Cr.P.C.

u/s 205 an application can be filed at the time of first appearance of the accused claiming the exemption from appearance before granting the bail. It is applicable to summons case.
307 is an exemption application claiming exemption on the date of adjournment if accused is unable to attend the court after taking the bail.

sec 205 crpc deals with the magistrates power to exempt the accused from personal appearance, while sec 317 deals with the power o0f judge to hold trial and enquieries in the absence of accused.
