Date of retirement

is there any notice period requiried for reduction in age of retirement ? what will be date of releaving if date of retirement falls on holiday ?

Any privilege cannot be taken away/ cncelled without prior notice.The last working day shall be the retirement date if it falls on holiday.

As of condition of service, retirement date for the existing employees cannot be reduced. However, lower retirement age can be fixed for the employees recruited on or after the the date of introduction of the new age of retirement.

If holiday or Sunday falls on the date of retirement, the employee is relieved in the afternoon of the working day prior to holiday, BUT the retirement becomes virtually effctive only from the afternoon of the due date of retirement, i.e., holiday or Sunday. You cannot expect an employee to attend office on a closed day of the organization merely to get relieved for retirement.
