Demand of the managing committee for the noc

I put in application for NOC for the sale of my flat when I went to inquire about the status the managing committee member told me give me another letter in writing that "I want to sell my flat and that I have no dues towards the society and that the society can take any legal steps it wishes against me as I had stated earlier that I was the ex-secretary of the society and during my tenure the registrar was called I think its because of this they are harassing me to give the NOC Kindly advise...

according to your statement , you were in the post of management committee. Why you fear on it, are they any liabilities or due was aerier during your period of post. or any due of liabilities towards of your flat?
if not then no need of worry

Legally one need not to obtain NOC of the society for selling his property situated within society premises but even then if you don't get it legally serve a legal notice followed with the complaint to the registrar and even then on failure to file a writ before high court.
