Husband in USA, wife returned to Hyd with child, filed divorce petition in Hyd. What is the course of a tion for husband.

If the husband received summons, let him give vakalatnama to local advocate in Hyderabad and challenge the case as per law on merits

Yes. After filing the divorce petition, the court will issue a summons to him and he may give vakalat to a lawyer in Hyderbad best known to him.
