Domestic violence

(Querist) 27 February 2013 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

I would like to know if DV can be filed against mother and sister of husband who are not living in the same household?

DV was filed in 2010 in the police station but not pursued in the court of law, but none of us were informed of that and in fact we only came to know about it this week when I have sent an RTI application for information regarding a fake arrest

What should we do now?

Regards

In dv Case there is no question of arrest.
Do appear in the case and fight it out.

Thank you, but we neither have the knowledge of DV case untill about a week ago nor did we receive summons from the court?

What should be done?

Appear in the case by appointing an advocate.

Dv can be filed against mother and sister of husband . the issue as to whether any case is made out can be ascertained only after going through the complaint .

engage a local lawyer . court will send the case for mediation to try working out an amicable settlement

Dear Querist
I agree with experts, nothing left to add

If you have not received any summon from the court, you need not to attend the court.
