Drink and drive in mumbai.. need help urgently..

I have been caught with drink and driving in Mumbai.. They have charged me of section 185.. The blood alcohol content reading was 158. Paid the fine of INR 2100 and the policemen gave me the receipt for the same. Policemen have taken my byke and license and have asked to appear before the magistrate on Monday 8:30.. Do I need to hire a lawyer.. What can be the consequences of this crime..

My doubt is when I appear in front of the magistrate should I accept that I was under the influence of alcohol..

I wan't this to end asap.. Please suggest me what to do..

Drink and Drive is one of the Worse Part in Mumbai.From Salman Khan the Actor who killed several People and 23 years lady who killed a Police Man and another Person at Nariman few years back are few examples.Now you are worried only how to come out of the problem with out any regret.There would be only fine if you accept the Case or you have to contest the case obtaining the Bail.Consult an Advocate of the Concerned Court it self by going early to the Court and sort out the Issue.Keep Sufficient Cash for Penalty and Expenses.Better Keep two of your people with you with Identity if any surety is required.

Thanks a lot sir.. I do have a regret for the same.. Its just that I came from delhi and we do not face any such problems there..

Will surely be more careful in the future..

Just one more question.. They will leave me after taking the fine.. In the clause it is mentioned that fine and imprisonment both can happen.. That is why very much worried..

Imprisonment will not be there and it would be bailable only other wise Police would not have Left You.Better as a caution take two persons with ID proof for surety purpose and take the help of Good Advocate of Same Court.Keep Sufficient cash for penalty and Advocate Fees.If you accept the Offence matter would end with Penalty.Tomorrow being sunday you could meet the Concerned Police in Station it self and see any thing could be done there it self to close the Matter.
