Hi Experts
I am vikarm sahu age 26 working in private company, and also looking for job in government sector, but I don't know whether i am eligible for obtaining OBC certificate.
As my caste listed in the central list OBC but even though i have doubt i.e. AS my father was employed/joined in the Indian Airforce as Airmen(lower rank) after 20 year of service he has been promoted to JWO(junior warrant officer) , which comes under group B officers with class-II gazetted status and later retired holding MWO (master warrant officer) position in the same group B.
Now I would like to know whether i am Eligible to obtain OBC NCL certificate or not
Please advise

If your caste is in the list you can get the OBC certificate. For creamy layer certificate laid down norms for income criteria need to be met.

Your status of OBC is not connected with the service of your father in IAF, that too in ranks, which is non-creamy layer. Therefore, apply and obtain the certificate from area SDM.

I agree with Dr. J. C. Vashista. Your father's job assignment has no connection with the O. B. C certificate.

Thanks Dr. J. C. Vashistha Ji, i have one more doubt actually when my father retired last year that time my father salary was more than 4.5 lakhs per annual. is that going to make any problem in obtaing OBC NCL certificate. I read that in defence the rank of colonel and above colonel comes under creamy layer and salary doesn,t matter is that correct ? who so ever below the rank of colonel even though thier salary is more than 4.5 lakhs treated as non creamy layer.
Please correct me if I am wrong

1. Yes it is correct that in defence the rank of colonel and above come under creamy layer and salary doesn,t matter.
2. Sh. Rajendra K Goyal is very right and I fully agree and appreciate his advise.
3. Donot have any apprehension regarding salary and status of your father, apply and obtain Caste Certificate, which you are entitled.
