Respected Sir/Madam,
My employer is asking me to show my social media accounts stating that they want to ensure that I'm not doing anything. My accounts have many data. So if they see my account, all data they can get. Is it legal for an employer to ask employees to show social media profiles for their monitoring and inspection without our permission?

How employer is concerned / connected with your social media data ? Whether any incriminating post has been noticed by your employer ? If no, you may deny access to your account.

If they have any doubts, they can ask the bank authorities through RTI, but you need not give any personal information except job-related information. Is there any difference in your organization's accounts?

The employer has no rights to interfere in your privacy or private affairs. You may refuse to comply and demand the employer to give it in writing to consider the issue

It is your "private" account which do not have any correlation with employer's business / functioning. However, if the employer is insisting you may deny its access since it is infringement of your fundamental right of privacy under Article 21 of the Constitution of India as held by nine judges constitutional bench in WP (C) 494/2012.
