Encroahment in our co-op hsg society premises

Because of a broken compound wall, a couple of footpath dwellers on the footpath outside have sneaked in and pitched their jhooggies in our CHS compound.
Short of using force against the encroachment, what is the quickest remedy we have to evict them and rebuild our broken segment of the compound wall?
Would appreciate an early response.

you have to approach the Muncipality

That may not really help! They will come out with fifty reasons why they can not remove the encroachers - citing manpower shortage and so on. Their competence (??) is exhibited if one moves around Mumbai! I need legal advice with a fast cure.
