Selling share in house property

(Querist) 25 June 2012 This query is : Resolved
Hi, Me and my husband own one house property jointly, i.e. equally. Now I want to sell some of my 50% stake in property to him. In this case - 1. Can I do so? , 2. Whether I've to sell it at market price?, and 3. Whether any documentation(like agreement) needs to be done and what kind of documentation?, thanks,

Why do you want to sell to your husband, you can also gift it.

A gift deed has to be registered to be legally valid.

Yes you have to register the gift deed, the stamp duty and registration charges are minimal compared with a sale deed and varies from state to state.

No need to add more
