Many parents do such frauds to cover up gap (or drop or failure) year of education and children consult this forum.

at least you have known and are clear that your father did a fraud.

DOB changed from 1986 to 1988 (why)

you have no idea why it was changed. Such fraud is committed by filing a fake affidavit in school that DOB is "X" and not "Y".

You father may be under misconception that he is doing no crime but in fact what he did is a crime.

Now motive of crime?

It could be :-

(i) To save you from loss of years due to failure in primary classes by changing school. (he may have forged TC as well)

(ii) Greed of putting you back in "good school" at initial stage without TC.

(iii) showing you as "not under age" at some point or other

why it should be believed that it is just two years back you came to know that your DOB is fraudulent.

please do not hide facts.

You can try visit the Hospital where you were born / or Village Panchayat record if born in village in home.

then you can muster of DOB.

You can try affidavit from mother who is alive.

or else

hire a lawyer.
