hand loan through nonjudicial stamp paper

Good morning sir,I'm from karimnagar.
In 13/06/2012 I gave 5 lakh money with 2 rupees interest through nonjudicial stamp paper.in 2013,dec I paid totally with intrest,but can't returned my stamp paper.because he intentially said that is not available. Now(11/06/2015) he send to me legal notice through advocate for repaid that amount.what i 'll do sir plz suggest me...

U say that U took 5L and acknowledging on a non-judicial stamp paper.Ok.The old stamp paper can be used and there is no limitation period for it.Section 54 Indian Stamps Act 1899 clearly states it.
Can U briefly mention the contents of the paper.

Whether you returned the money with interest through cheque or any acknowledgement / proof was taken?
What were the contents written on stamp paper or it was blank?
If you have no proofs of return of money, you have weak defense.
Consult local lawyer and reply the notice.

how can one return the loan without any acknowledgement when it was taken on a pronote.
