Certainly possible.Read Order 38 Rule 5 of CPC.

in proceedings under HMA, it is applicable being its civil proceedings but in criminal case, the same is possible only when the opposite party fails to pay and a recovery warrant is issued directing the collector to recover the amount as land revenue.
