It is ot the wife bt the accused person who gets convicted.If you could prove the allegations then you should not bother the gender of the offender.

The law see the offense and the accused irrespective of the gender. There are many cases where the wife of MrX is convicted. But, if a wife/complainant give a false complaint, she can be prosecuted for giving a false complaint.
