THE DATE OF ENROLLMENT IS FROM THE DATE YOU SWEAR TO BECOME AN ADVOCATE AND NOT DATE OF YOUR APPLICATION.

For this one has to see Bar Council Rules of the State.

There is no such a statutory period. Once you give application, if it is accepted you will be called for enrollment, after the formalities for the enrollment is completed, the certificate will be issued. Normally it will take 30 days time.

Recently Bar Council of India has changed their rules. Those who have completed the law course after 2009 have to attend the written test, which will be conducted by the Bar Council twice in the year.

Mere filing an application do not give a legal right in favour of such applicant to be enrolled as an Advocate within a specific date. Various persons passed their LLB from a college which was not recognized by BCA but was recognised by University and their put their applications before Punjab & Haryana Bar Council, those were denied enrollment and ultimately their had to move to High Court wherein such petition is still pending.

So there may be various reasons not to enroll the applicant what to talk of time so there are statutory rules of time frame.
