(Querist) 19 April 2011 This query is : Resolved
Is there a common denominator in term of days, for every month, for calculating pro rata salary, since, no of days in all the months are not equal and changing of denominator will give different results for different months. What is the legal provision in this regard.
Ahmed Daud Girach (Expert) 20 April 2011
Salary for April having 30 days one day salary will be multiplied by 1/30.
For may will be multiplied by 1/31.This is common accounting. What is the real problem?
Kirti Kar Tripathi (Expert) 20 April 2011
The basis principle is salary divided by 26 days. which is adopted as calculation for monthly salary for the purpose of calculating gratuity.
RAJU O.F., (Expert) 20 April 2011
Usually a month is treated as 30 days and hence, the denominator is taken as 30, for pro rata salary, including the month of February.
