Query about obtaining residence certificate

Respective Seniours......
My query is "i want to have my residence certificate of rajasthan while i reside in haryana since 1993 nd even have obtained residence certificate of haryana ,i have done my schooling in haryana(8th 10th & 12th )" ? my every document almost relates to haryana but my family is basically from rajasthan and my name is in ration card of our family at there(rajasthan) so suggest me that how it could be possible ......and if yes than whether i required to surrender my haryana residence certificate...?

As your ration card still pertains of Rajasthan so by surrendering your residential certificate of Haryana, you can obtain it from Rajasthan.

Residence certificate is issued on the basis of actual residence in the State concerned. Mere entry in the ration card is not adequate. Now a days the passport authorities are requiring corroborative evidence such as telephone bill or electricty bill as additional evidence where a person gives ration card as proof of his residence.As all your academic certificates are issued in Rqajasthan, it may not be possible for you to get the certificatge of Rajasthan. This is my sincere view.

I regret the error that crept in the last but one sentence of my postng dt. 22/11/2011. The sentence may pl be read as- "As all your academic certificates are issued in Haryana it may not be possible for you to get the residence certificate of Rahjasthan."

This is the matter of domicile--- jus soli vs. jus sanguinis--- whether you were born in rajasthan or not, if your father/ grandpa etc were of rajasthan, then technically there is no problem in getting domicile there. But you need to prove that why you want domicile of rajasthan....
