Is there any fixed fee for a lawyer in drafting a Legal Document? If not, why? Can the fee be fixed?

NO. THERE IS NO SUCH GUIDANCE. IT IS MISCELLANEOUS THINGS. LITERALLY FIXING IT MAY BE 10 % OF VALUE OF SUBJECT OF DOCUMENT.

Because one can ask for a one page draft with no work involved, and other can ask 10 page draft with some research and then there can be 100 pager with loads of research.
Lawyers charge for their expertise.

Dear Ganesan,
Your answer to the question is not proper. The subject-matter of the question is not the nature of work, but the Lawyer's Fees. How can you determine the value of the subject of a document? It is ambiguous.

there is no fixed fees. There is no answer also that why is it not fixed?
Write BCI for making rules.

We are repeatedly telling the advocates fees can not be predetermined or fixed.
It depends upon the individual advocate's time value.
Say, for sending a legal notice, some advocates collect Rs.500/-, some advocates charge Rs.5000/-. some of the advocates charge for even reading the papers, they charge per hour basis also.

There is NO any fixed fee for a lawyer in drafting a Legal Document. It depends upon the skill, expertise, complications importance of Legal work
It is like Dr., Surgeons fees.
More busy, more fees.
Can the fee be fixed, : Yes, when you negotiate , fix it every time you do so, with same or diff lawyers. ?
As no work is same. All cases differ. Fees differ. Cannot fix it.
However guideline on Advocates Fees Schedule prescribing Minimum Fees of Advocate exists, under Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa Ref No. Gen/ Admn/1829/2011 Dated 29-04-2011.

And my dear, there are lakhs of advocate, choose one that fit your budget. Lots of alternative, Fix your own fee with advocate of your own choice. Why worry?? You are not compelled to pay any fixed fee.
In U.K. London, POA drafting cost app Rs. 55,000/- 55k
As per schedule in Maharashtra, Minimum is Rs.5000/- 5k
Usually Average paid by Client is Rs.1000/- 1k only.
Now you want to fix Advocate Fees?
IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY FEES, CONTACT FREE LEGAL CELL, EXIST IN ALL INDIAN COURTS. ADVOCATE WORK FOR FREE, NO FEE.

Since drafting can never be similar in all cases, the fee can also differ from expert to expert and the language used in that depending purely on the nature and complexity of the matter and also the length of the draft in any case.
