Change of name in property card

We have an area of about 3000 square feet which was registered in my great grand mom we want to get the transferred on our name when we visited the talathi office the officer said that there should be conveyance deed presented with the application is the conveyance deed required in the above matter what is the procedure to get it transferred on our name please reply

on your great grand mother death who are the legal heirs to the property . it cannot be transferred in your name without consent of other legal heirs

No objection (consent) in the form of affidavit and declaration has been taken from the respective party but is the talathi officer right about the conveyance deed how can the conveyance deed be made when both the buyer and seller have been deceased i tried to make undestand the officer but he doesnt seem to listen and ignores every time i visit their office please reply sir

Talathi is not competent authority in the given case because the mutation since very long have not been got mutated by you or your family. You need to file a civil suit for partition against some of the legal heirs of your grand father and then shall have to execute a family settlement, based upon which the names can be got changed in the revenue record.
