Legal procedure to join company

i am a registered lawyer by bar council of india and i am having my registered number from my state.
i have joint a company as a legal consultant but now i am having query that i am not from any associate of firm. is there any need to make any contract and if it is so, so plz send me format for that and how will i get my fees from that.my company has told me to provide invoice every month and we will pay you. but as i am not from any firm on what bases i can make invoice?
plz guide me.
