No advice on medico legal case can be given on the basis of mere two lines you posted.
Take all the papers and meet an advocate personally.

take a second opinion . if in opinion of other doctors it amounts to medical negligence complain to medical council against said doctor
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 16 December 2013
Though the information is insufficient to give a opinion on your query, your curiosity is appreciated. In this case it will e very difficult to prove the medical negligence because it is a part of the ongoing course of treatment, however you may approach a knowledgeable doctor for a second opinion and then decide about approaching a Consumer forum or the MCI.
M V Gupta (Expert) 17 December 2013
To establish med negligence u should have opinion of an independent surgeon. if the surgeon opines that there was med negligence, then u can file complaint before Consumer forum and claim damages. Approaching the Med Council may not get u any compensation, but the Doctor may be suspended from practicing for some time.

If you have decided to go to consumer forum you should have a complete case history from date of admission to date of discharge.
I have seen balanced orders are given by judges in Forums on medical negligence.
Thyagarajan (Expert) 17 December 2013
If you are serious about taking the matter to court, you had to start collecting information like date of admission date on which operation was decided ,date on which actual operation was done , who did the operation etc.
I have seen orders on medical negligence given by consumer forums. Their findings are dependent on the above records and their judicial prudence as they are not medical practitioners. Some times I feel I should give credit to the judges on their balanced order.
As Expert Mr. Guptha suggested a second opinion should be sought.
