Marriage certificate

(Querist) 07 September 2014 This query is : Resolved
Hello Sirs,
First of all thank you for having such forum where people can take the first step.

Well, my query is herewith mentioned below-
I married in January 2013 in Bhandara near Nagpur district in Maharashtra. Currently staying in Mumbai.

I would like to know that is it mandatory that I will have to prepare the marriage certificate from Bhandara/Nagpur or I can prepare the Marriage certificate from Mumbai also under Maharashtra Marriage Act.

One agent is ready to prepare the marriage certificate in Mumbai but asking a huge amount of 5000/-.

Request your resolution on this.
Thank you in advance.

You can apply for Mumbai also. The amount of Rs.5000/- is quite reasonable.

If you approach directly to the MRO it may be too cheap.

Fee is quite reasonable. It is desirable to get marriage registered at place of your marriage.

If you are not inclined to engage the services of a broker, you may have a direct approach and get it done on your own by properly observing the formalities in this regard, better avoid the broker and get it done by your self so that you will have a personal satisfaction in it.
