We r a joint family. Father and 2 uncle, lost agricultural land in 1980s in Karnataka under some act. Government converted that in nursery for agricultural department. Can we get it again

First of all, ascertain the details from the concerned office under RTI Act as to how the Government is in occupation of the land.

Ascertain how the land in question has been vested in the State Govt. The case though appears to be very simple, may involve a lot of issues like- was the land belonged to the family ?, was it acquired by the State? was the setting up of the nursury a public purpose and so on.
First take out the basic information as to the exact title of the land when it was acquired by the Sate and under what statute the land was taken up.

All documents including notification to acquire, compensation paid etc. need to be referred, consult local lawyer and show him all the documents.

Yes, as advised well by experts above, you may gather all those details, ascertain the issues and laws involved n it and also if there was any injustice done to your family and why your father and uncle did not initiate any action for the last 35 years in this regard etc and then consult a local lawyer with the details for the possibilities to retrieve the lost landed property.
