Motor Cover notes

Dear All,

Kindly guide me about the validity of motor cover notes after issuance and liability of an insurance company validity(be it be own damage or third party)in duration .i.e till how many year the insurance company is liable for third party claim .and what is the time duration in which an insured should lodge a claim with the insurance company for Third party claim, also guide is it valid to lodge a claim on the cover note after its expiry period of sixty days.
