Insurance claim due to car accident death

Hi Sir/Madam,
My Father expired in Dec, 2010 in a road accident. The accidental insurance case filed in Feb 2011. we paid the court fee. Till now, we did not get any updates on the status of the case and the lawyer is not responding.
1. Generally how much time it will take to settle the amount.
2. What are all information regarding case, we can ask the lawyer.
Please suggest me in this regard.

go and visit thwe lawyer personally . if you know the case number visit the concerned court and make enquires . you will get to know all the details . peruse the roznama of the case . it contains details of what has happened in court on various dates

if you attend the case regularly then the case will complete by this time so better to check the status of your case in the court and meet your lawyer and discuss
discuss about your case and if you have mentioned the compensaton then how much you will be awarded by the court can be discussed

1. it depends from court to court. Generally this type of case does not take more than 2-3 years.
2. It can take help another advocate to get actual details.

Nothing to add more except that it is strange that the stage of the evidence has yet not come even after the expiry of more than a year of filing of the petition. You are required to attend each and every hearing of the case so as to update yourself.

Can you please explain me more sir, about 'Stage of the evidence'. What is it. and after this stage, how much time it will take to settle the amt.

Here in Mah/ takes longer.
Insurance Co want to earn interests accumulated and never paid to victim.. in goes in Lakhs per case.
Court / Location. claim, opp adv etc are imp factor, that ur adv know , not we..
