INFORMATION FROM M/S ABC CO-0PPERATIVE SOCIETY PVT LTD

1. ABOVE FIRM IS COPERATIVE SOCIETY PVT LTD HAS ENGAGED MANPOWER. I WANT INSURANCE POLICY NUMBER (ESI) OF ONE PERSON ENGAGED IN THAT FIRM.
FIRM REFUSED ON SAYING THAT THEY ARE NOT PUBLIC AUTORITY COVERED UNDER ACT

PLS ADVISE WHOM TO APPROACH TO GET THE INFORMATION

Pvt. firms are not covered under RTI.

Co-operative societies are covered under RTI Act.

Though private companies are not covered under RTI act, the cooperative societies which are registered are certainly covered nuder the said act, you may prefer an appeal.

If they are registered under the societies act they will come under the purview of the RTI act, here it seems they have registered under the companies act, so they will not come under the RTI act.

ESI No. can be obtained from the employee himself. For what purpose you would like to have the ESI no. of that person? RTI coverage you can see in their web site if available or seek a specific information under RTI for which they have to give you time bound reply if it is a public institution.
