what is the difference between awarded decree and consent decree. In a civil suit if the debtor signs a consent decree does he lose the right to contest or appeal in higher forums.

Awarded decree is a decree which is provided by the court after appreciating the merit of the case whereas is the consent decree is a decree wherein both parties have consented to award a particular decree and where there is no ocassion for the court to appreciate the merit of the case.
If debtor admits his debt and provides consent thereto before court then he looses his right to contest or appeal but if he proves successfully by way of a sepatate suit that his consent was obtaind fradulantly then he can reopen the matter.
