i have a house rented out to my mom on pagri basis in 1975.my mom has passed away in 2002 and now me and sister r legal heirs of her. the house is in pretty bad shape and land lord is not making any efforts to repair it so we shifted to other place.i m married and own the new house but my sister is unmarried and she stays with me.the lanlord has put his lock on top of my lock and not allowing me to use the said property.how can i get rid of the lock put by the landlord as he has newer served me any legal notice or given any intimation of puting on his lock.should i forcefully remove the lock put by my landlord.

The question will be, How you will prove your tenancy in that house?
If you intend to go for some legal fight then break open the lock put by the landlord and re-enter the premises with your household goods.
But keep in mind, tenant remains a tenant and at some point of time the law itself will force you to vacate the premises even if your possession is saved temporarily with the help of law.
