Please advice

Guest (Querist) 02 April 2014 This query is : Resolved
I got a call from someone's mobile and he told that I am from sales tax department and the person was misleading me by saying that the department would soon send several notices to me. When I inquired about his identity from some other source I found that he is a peon in sales tax department. Actually I think one of our competitor gave some money to that peon of sales tax department to call me in order to make me feel scared despite of the fact I pay tax in time. Now,I want to phone the peon again please advice how to talk to him(peon) as he was misrepresenting his post.

He must be a fraudster than a genuine official. Lodge a complaint with Police.

You may contact his department head and lodge a complaint about this peon's illegal demands and behavior and request the head/chief to initiate an inquiry and other appropriate actions as envisaged in the rules of conduct of staff in government service, or you wait for his next call and initiate the said action.

keep cool.

he may be intending to extract some bribe. contact with ACB. negotiate deal with him and gt him trapped.

this exercise can succeed if you do not complaint to higher officer and also do not alert him by scolding etc.
